Workshops

Our iPad workshops take a different approach to teaching technology; we take things slow, define terms along the way, and leave plenty of time for questions. We focus on apps on the iPad and iPhone, but we can also develop custom programs for clients.

NOTE: Due to Covid our hands-on workshops are currently on hold.

Have a look at some of our popular hands-on workshop topics:
"I just got an iPad, now what?"
iPAD WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS

This workshop is targeted at people just starting out with their iPads and will cover the basics of the most popular pre-installed apps on the device. Attendees will walk away with the confidence to explore their device independently.

No previous iPad experience is required. Participants are expected to have a current iPad* and must bring their Apple ID and password to each class.

"How can I protect myself online?"
PRIVACY, SECURITY & YOUR iPAD

This important workshop will cover the privacy and security features on your iPad. We will look into the Settings app to make sure you're comfortable with what you are sharing with your apps, and learn how to change it as needed. We will also explore the security features available on sites such as Google, to understand the security options they offer.

"Everyone is listening to podcasts; how do I?"

"What? Another update?"
The iPAD OS WORKSHOP

OS is the operating system (or computer program) that runs your iPad. New versions of OS are introduced for the iPad frequently, too frequently for many people. This workshop will cover the latest features that are offered after a new version of the OS is released by Apple.

Knowledge of the basics of the iPad is expected. Participants must bring a current iPad* running the most recent Operating System, along with an Apple ID and password.

"How do I .... ?"
The iPAD Q&A SESSIONS

Many older adults are proficient in a few often-used apps on their iPad or iPhone, but would love to learn more. This new series of iPad Q&A sessions are sure to build knowledge and confidence.

These hybrid lecture/workshop style sessions are can be scheduled monthly, introducing a new iPad feature in each session, then offering lots of time for Q&A. Having a regularly scheduled time for residents to ask their questions takes the pressure away from your busy staff. Month by month, residents will develop a new level of confidence to explore the full potential of their device. Contact us for more information on this offering!

*NOTE: workshop attendance will require that participants have a current iPad with an updated operating system. If you use an older iPad a private lesson would be the best way to get the most out of your device. Please click here to contact us to learn specific requirements for each workshop.
